The Inspirational Blending Workshop will provide students with the knowledge, tools, and techniques to identify colors in a picture and create a physical fiber representation on a blending board.
This class will discuss color theory, fiber blending techniques, color placement, and practical applications. Class participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to blend their own unique fiber using a chosen picture as the source of inspiration.
This class empowers students to harness reflective creativity in crafting tangible representations of emotions or moods through fiber art. Exploring the intricate realm of color psychology, participants delve into the cultural and historical significance of colors and their profound impact on individual perceptions. Through hands-on exercises, students learn to construct a bespoke Color Mood Journal, enabling them to study and translate emotions into physical fiber blend representations.
The class unfolds in two distinct segments:
Students delve into the historical and cultural backgrounds of different colors alongside an exploration of the psychological dimensions that influence personal color perception.
By closely examining a series of photos capturing diverse moods and emotions, participants create their personalized Color Mood Journal, translating these feelings into tangible expressions through fiber blending techniques.
Mixology of Color Blending is the continuation of the Inspirational Blending Workshop. This course will delve deep into Color Theory, exploring its principles and how they can be applied when examining photos.
Using precise calculations, students will learn to mix two sets of primary colors (Red, Blue, and Yellow & Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow). By revisiting techniques learned in the Inspirational Blending workshop, students will mix preferred colors representing their inspirational photos. In addition, students will create a functional color journal to document and analyze the colors used in their artwork.
